6. You will need to block in your image and see what works. I prefer to use a blue pencil, if you want use red china marker or pencil and draw over it. I'm using Twiggy since it's a variety of patterns, movements, and shapes. You dont necessarily have to be accurate since it is blocking but you should use gestures and use your knowledge of light on this.
7. After blocking in your image, look at your reference and start adding in the details. Do it with your line in mind and perfect it. If you're doing the face remember halfway should be the eyes and the face is broken up in 3rds, with the brow on the first third, nose on the 2nd, chin on the last. if you have trouble with the ears, they take up the entire 2nd 3rd, if that makes sense to you.
8. Ink in your lines and start to clean up. Perfect your lines.
9. Not so fast, we're not cutting yet. Did you check for islands and fill it in?
10. Fill in your lines so you will have a visual of what the final product will look like. You have no idea how many times I've forgot to do this and I've screwed up my stencil. Now that we have the stencil, lets learn some cutting tricks.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
